Hi there, we met briefly at a diner. You were having fries and a soda, and I asked if I could sit with you.

You were from Ireland and was joining a group tour to hike Kilimanjaro later in the week. You had a gorgeous white smile and sparkling grey eyes.

I found the courage to ask if we could eat together again and was delighted when you said ’sure.’ You told me where you were staying at, and I said I would give you a call there.

Stupid me, I later forgot the name of your lodge, and I kick myself for not writing it down on a napkin.

So sorry if you were waiting for me to call. But really, I’d would love to see you again!
